- Minimum balance for opening a Share Certificate is $500, regardless of the term
- Most Share Certificates feature quarterly compounded dividends, except for the 6-month certificate, which is not compounded as it pays at maturity
- A monthly-paid dividend is available on Share Certificates of $10,000 or more
- Interest earned is not compounded on monthly-paid dividends, as dividends must be paid directly to the member by transfer or check
- There may be a penalty for early withdrawals of funds exceeding dividends earned on Share and IRA Certificates
